How the Gone Too Soon Riding Club came to be.

GTS, also known as Gone Too Soon, is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization that was created after our National President, Jarrod Holzheu, lost his son, Colten, in a tragic car accident. The accident happened just one day after Colten graduated High School, his whole life in front of him. A funny, lovable kid that would do anything for anyone, Colten was gone too soon.

Reeling from the impact of this sudden loss, Jarrod prepared to lay his son to rest.  What he was not prepared for was the exorbitant cost of a funeral and everything that went along with it. After wading through the fog of grief and the quagmire of medical and funeral expenses, Jarrod had an idea. Being one to always think of others and being surrounded by a Biker Community that was the same way, he decided to use his love of bikes and the Biker Community to build something that would help cushion the blow for those that are faced with the same struggles he has faced with the loss of his son.

Gone Too Soon, or GTS, as the non-profit organization has come to be known, was born.

There were 15 members at that first meeting on 19 December 2020 and, although only two of those attending knew and were close to Jarrod and Colten at the time of Colten’s passing, everyone present wanted to be a part of this thing Jarrod envisioned. By the time March rolled around, there were 30+ members and at the time of this writing, mid-March, we are at just shy of 40 and growing.

Starting from the ground up can be difficult for any organization and it was no different for GTS. That being said, the support that we’ve garnered, even in the winter months where charity rides and events are difficult, we have managed to help people in need. We are a young Club, but we are driven.

Our ranks are made up of people from all walks of life. We have Truck Drivers, Mechanics, IT Professionals, Medical and Sales Professionals as well as Real Estate Pros along with many others, all who share the same vision; To help people struggling with grief and finances caused by the loss of someone Gone Too Soon
